MANCHESTER, CIRCUS TAVERN. John also notes that the MA carries another advertisement for the Circus Tavern. This time it’s not priced at £100K but ‘offers invited’. HAY-ON-WYE, THREE TUNS. Andrew Davison reports: ‘still closed, but notices suggest that it is due to reopen in a few weeks’ time and also that the emphasis will be on food. Work is certainly going on apace – the exterior has well repaired and looks very attractive. We will have to wait until the pub reopens to see whether we can retain it on the NI. However, at the time of my visit the interior had been entirely stripped out. Of course, everything may be repaired and returned to its original position.’ We’ll have to see. WHAT’S BREWING MISTAKE. To confuse us all WB July (p.5, col.1) tells us that the Buck at Rumburgh, Suffolk is NI-listed. It isn’t - which the correspondent to Swift Halves would have known if s/he had consulted the lists in the GBG or the East Anglian Regional Inventory. Geoff
