Nothing much to report this month but here’s two good-news stories. NAGS HEAD, BISHOP’S STORTFORD, HERTS, one of the great interwar classics, was purchased in some weeks back by McMullen's brewery, Daniel Meers helpfully reports. He notes they are aware of its National Inventory of Historic Pub Interiors status, and says that it will respect this. Let’s hope it will be reopening before too long. Mick Slaughter reports how ‘it is always pleasing to discover a previously keg only National Inventory of Historic Pub Interiors that “goes real” - the most recent is the KING’S HEAD, BLYTH, NORTHUMBERLAND which has introduced three real ales – Caledonian Deuchars IPA, Black Sheep Best Bitter and Greene King Abbot Ale – at an introductory £2 a pint. The handpumps are situated in the stunning lounge bar which is only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings from 8pm but real ales can be ordered from the public bar at all times. Geoff
