CHESHIRE - Bollington, Holly Bush National Inventory of Historic Pub Interiors Part One 75 Palmerston Street, SK10 5PW Tel: 01625 573073 Opening Hours: 12 to 11 Draught Beer & Cider: Three Robinson real ales Pub Food: Meals are planned Listed Status: Not listed Rebuilt c.1935 displaying 'brewers' Tudor' on the first floor and red brick and stone below. It retains the three rooms from the original plan - Tap Room on the left, Snug on the right and, behind this, the Smoke Room with a bar; it is unaltered apart from the replacement of a hatch with a bar counter in the front left room. The Smoke Room at the rear has a servery with three intact usable bar counter screens and a red Formica top from the 1960s, and a bar-back incorporating two tall thin display cases with leaded glazed window. This room is completely wood-panelled with original fixed seating re-upholstered, a baffle at one end, bell-pushes, and a glazed brick and stone fireplace with wood surround. Look for the rose symbols carved into the fielded panelling. |
